What is PPG-15 Stearyl ether used for?
PPG-15 Stearyl Ether is used in skincare products, mostly in cleansers and moisturizers, as an emollient, because its lubricating properties give the skin a soft, smooth appearance and a silky look and feel. It is also seen in a large number of deodorant and antiperspirant products, as well as other skincare and cosmetic formulas. In other cosmetics and personal care products, PPG-15 Stearyl Ethers are used mainly: in the formulation of moisturizers and cleansing products; as a solvent for organic UV filters, and good carrier for essential oils and oil-soluble active ingredients; to prevent crystallization of salts in antiperspirant formulations. It is CIR approved in concentrations from 2% – 10%, but not to exceed 25%.
